After you have completed steeping the grain, add the liquid extract. Stir the wort and keep it moving around in the pot. Take your jug of liquid extract and pour it in while stirring. You don't have to stir frantically, just keep the wort moving in a circle and scrape the bottom every few minutes to make sure you don't have a slug of extract on the bottom. It is easiest to do this while the burner is off.
Liquid extract is syrupy and sticky. If anything gets extract on it, clean it off immediately or if it is trash, throw it away. Otherwise you can end up with extract on everything.
Add some hot water to the liquid extract jug.
Cap it and shake it up, ouch, that's hot!
Pour out the hot water and extract, and repeat a couple of times.
Add water to the 6 gallon level in the boil pot. You now have all the fermentables in your wort.
